Ifedayo Durosinmi
Ifedayo Durosinmi – Etti is an Author, Entrepreneur, and young global leader with over 10 years of management and leadership experience working in the finance, marketing, and manufacturing industries. Ife holds a first degree in Biochemistry and an MBA in Global Business. She is the founder of Herconomy, a financial technology platform that helps women securely grow their wealth by offering high-yield savings accounts, community, financial education, discounts on women – centric products and services with a mission and vision to be the most reliable financial services platform for women in Africa. Ife is a Mandela Washington Fellow, the flagship program of the U.S. Government, launched for Young African Leaders. She is also a Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum and she also won the ‘ 2022 Tech Entrepreneur of the Year award’ by Globant, NYSC quoted company that reinvents business through technology and builds business agility to drive better results in a fast-changing context and, is present in over 25 countries. In 2022, she was named one of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans by Advance Media and was recently invited to Goalkeepers 2023 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for the work we are doing to catalyze progress towards Gender Equality. Ife is also currently appointed as a Youth Advisory Group Member for Solutions for Youth Employment (S4YE), a global coalition formed by the World Bank, aimed at providing catalytic support to employment and productive work for 150 million youth by 2030. Since the launch of Herconomy, they have successfully trained over 85,000 women online and offline. In 2021, Herconomy was selected for NASDAQ’s Milestone Makers Program for the work being done to empower women. They are also the first Amazon recruitment partner in Nigeria with a signed partnership in 2021 which has been renewed in 2023. Herconomy recently won the ‘Best Fem Tech Start-up’ award at the African Tech Ecosystem Acceleration – Dakaar Summit 2023 and was selected as a 2023 Google Black Founders Fund recipient. (This is an award where Google provides cash awards – without asking for equity and offers a hands-on support to help black entrepreneurs build and grow their businesses). They were also selected as one of the top 10 Tech Startups in Africa by the prestigious Startup Bootcamp Accelerator Program, Herconomy is positioned to become one of the top Fintech companies in Africa. In March 2018, she was invited to Harvard University as a panelist, to discuss the role of women in democracy and how it impacts businesses in Africa, during their African Development Conference. Ife was also named a Peace Scholar by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was recently selected to receive mentorship from world-renowned artiste and businessman, Akon, because of her contributions to the entrepreneurship sector in Africa. In addition, she is a One Young World Ambassador , listed as one of the top 100 Women by Leading Ladies Africa. In 2018 as well, she received the Women’s Advocacy Award from the West African Leadership Organization, for her exemplary leadership and dedication to the socioeconomic development in West Africa. In 2017, Ifedayo received an award from Vivian Fowler College for Girls, one of Nigeria’s best secondary schools, in recognition of her contribution to women's empowerment.
